Participation is text on the exhibition by Dr Mareike Hartmann: "Delicate, inward-looking faces that are touching in their fragility and defenselessness. Dark bog oak, reminiscent of childhood days and of finding very specially shaped pieces of wood that know how to tell a fantastic story. Or figures that emerge finely and brightly from the rough wood and thus develop a poetic dynamic of their own. The sculptures and objects by the sculptor Susanna Giese are inevitably touching. Her figures are humane commentaries, visual expressions of her own texts or quotations that she finds in literature and allows to take shape in intensive processes. In doing so, the artist is always concerned with being human in all its ambivalent facets. Her works want to inspire us to think about humanity, about the vulnerability of life and ultimately about how we deal with it in human interaction. "
